PhD Medical Imaging Standardisation for Large Scale Studies

The project will support standardisation for imaging in large scale studies using a combination of artificial intelligence (AI), big data, biomarker and measurement science approaches. The purpose of the studentship is to bring new AI methods to bear on understanding medical images for cancer treatment with the potential to predict treatment outcomes using these new methods. The studentship is anticipated to work on methods and applications for CT (computed tomography) scanning and/or PET (positron emission tomography).

Eligibility criteria

We acknowledge, understand and embrace diversity. Candidates must hold a first class or 2:1 honours degree (or equivalent overseas qualification) in an appropriate discipline (e.g. engineering, computer science, signal processing, applied mathematics, and physics). Candiates should be able to demonstrate excellent mathematical, analytic, programming skills.

This studentship is available for UK/EU students only.

IELTS requirements:  6.5 or above (or equivalent) with no sub-test of less than 6.
